Geography used in the BCMD
The Manufacturers' Directory uses three levels of geography - Development Region, Regional District and
City - allowing companies to be searched based on a general area or specific location.
City: The city field is a combination of incorporated municipalities, designated place names and localities.
Regional District: Group of neighbouring municipalities joined together for the purposes of
regional planning and managing common services (such as police or ambulance services).
Development Region: A grouping of Regional Districts created as a standard geographic unit for
analysis of regional economic activity.
